Keep track of your student’s classroom progress through guardian email summaries. You can choose the frequency of the emails—daily or weekly—and you can unsubscribe or remove yourself from Classroom at any time.
Guardian email summaries include:
Missing work—Work that’s late at the time the email was sent
Upcoming work—Work that’s due today and tomorrow (for daily emails) or work that’s due in the upcoming week (for weekly emails)
Class activity—Announcements, assignments, and questions recently posted by teachers
As a guardian, you must receive and accept an email invitation before you can receive email summaries. Only teachers and administrators from your student’s school can send these invitations.
Do I need a Gmail address to be invited?
No! You can use your current email address to receive an invitation. You will need to create a Google Account to accept the invitation, but you can do so with your existing email address.
Do I need a Google Account to receive email summaries?
For security reasons, you need a Google Account to receive email summaries from Classroom. You don’t need Gmail to create the account—you can create a Google Account with your current email address. A Google Account allows you to set the frequency of your emails, update your locale, and view all students connected to your account.
To create your Google Account, click here and just follow the onscreen instructions. When you receive the invitation from your student’s teacher(s), you will then be able to configure your summaries as you wish.
Can I sign in to Classroom and view my student’s classes? Can I sign in to the Classroom mobile app?
Guardians can’t sign in to Classroom, either on a computer or on a mobile device. The guardian summaries will provide you with all the information you need.
