"We have been a part of the Holy Spirit School family since 2009. As parents that attended Catholic schools, we chose to hold onto the tradition. The choice to send our children to Holy Spirit was an easy one. This school is a stronghold that is led by a dedicated Administrator - a Filippini nun, like no other. Our children benefit from the rigorous academics, the performing arts program, and social and emotional well being; and they gain a strong Catholic foundation. The outstanding teachers continue to educate our children with a sense of safety and security within the classroom. Our 4th grader was in public school and had an IEP, so we were a little nervous; but Holy Spirit has made our transition amazing, and he has lost nothing by being in private school, which we were so afraid of. My parents sent me to Catholic elementary school, because they were not thrilled with the school system the town I lived in provided back in 1990's. They wanted me to have a good education and to grow up in the Catholic faith. Also with the smaller elementary school, my class became more of an extended family — we grew up together very much like siblings. It is what we wished for our children.  When we met Sr. Marie and the faculty, our decision was instant. "I understand the value of a Catholic education first hand, having attended Catholic school myself grades K-12. When it came time to find the right Catholic school for our daughter and son, back when we had a lot of choices in Morris county, we visited every Catholic school in the area; and in the end we knew Holy Spirit and Sr Marie would be the "family" we were looking for. From the excellent academics that always raise the bar and challenge them to grow, to the STREAM program, Theater Arts Program and the family involvement, the school had that "extra" we hoped for. Its so important that children not only learn to the best of their individual ability in a safe and encouraging environment, but that they are also learning morality, kindness, social responsibility and truly developing their moral compass. "My student has gone through two school closings: St.Anthonys in Butler and
St. Francis in Haskell. Holy Spirit students go to the same churches, summer camps, town sports, theater groups, gym/martial arts and music companies as everyone in town. If you come here, you will probably know someone. Sr. Marie and the staff wholeheartedly believe in our students and their ability to learn, and it shows in the day-to-day events. We found Holy Spirit to be a beautiful, warm, welcoming community. "After OLV in Wayne closed in 2007, HSS was our one and only choice of Catholic Schools. Sr Marie welcomed us with open arms. My older son graduated in 2015 as his class Valedictorian, went on to attend DePaul, and now is attending Manhattan College. My younger son is graduating this year; he started in Pre-K3. He also will be attending DePaul in the fall. The teachers and administration have given both my children an academic education as well as spiritual education.
